“Share and promote” – A basic training for volunteers in PR to promote international volunteering”

Volunteers return motivated and enthusiastic from an international workcamp or another type of international voluntary service. In this training we encouraged them to share their experience and spread the message of international volunteering.
Contents were an introduction to the basics of communication and PR in NGOs, followed by specific sessions such as:
– Word of mouth
– How to prepare and organise attracting events and other “face-to-face”-PR?
– How to use classic media?
– How and where can you use the Web to promote international volunteering (blogs, internet, social communities)?
IBG provided facilitators and PR-experts as trainers. Most parts of the training were organised in working groups and in practical exercises. The training was held in English, but translation service for the most important parts of the training was offered into French and German.
